While joining Shiloh often starts with walking the aisle at the end of the service, it doesn’t have to. To become a member you have to demonstrate a working understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ and have been baptized by immersion as a believer in Christ.
If you fit this description and would like to join the next steps look like this:
- Set up a time to meet with a pastor. You can call or email us, or you can come forward during the time of response in a regular worship service. The goal of this meeting is for you to get to know the pastor, ask questions about the church, for the pastor to get to know you and your family. You’ll be asked to share your testimony and demonstrate an understanding of the gospel and discuss the details of your baptism.
- Attend a new members class. A new members class is offered periodically for perspective members. If there are factors that make it a challenge for you to attend the class in a timely manner, a self study route can be done in conjunction with a meeting with a pastor. The purpose of this class is designed for you to get to know Shiloh better in several ways: what we believe, what we do as a church, and what we expect of each other.
- Be affirmed by the church membership at a business meeting. Once you’ve met the requirements and are ready to join, you’re family will be presented to the church and the church will vote to affirm you as a covenant member of Shiloh.
