Shiloh Formed

Shiloh Formed

We endeavor to make Christ both the object and the subject of our worship. To this end, we receive our doctrine and practice from the Word of God. While Southern Baptist by affiliation, the Holy Scriptures are the means by which we can know God and discern his will in all matters of life and godliness.

Shiloh is formed by rich tradition and history. The list below is a summary of these things. The first is the most important and each of the things that follow it are subject to it. Shiloh is formed by:

  • The Word of God- every thing we do in our lives and worship is based first and foremost by the Word of God.
    • 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12-13; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Colossians 3:16
  • Orthodox Tradition- we appreciate and recognize the importance of church fathers and the grace given to the church through things like creeds and confessions of the early church councils.
  • Protestant Ideals- The Five Solas of the protestant reformation have been a help and a guide to Christians in their understand of Scripture for over 500 years.
    • Scripture Alone
    • Christ Alone
    • Faith Alone
    • Grace Alone
    • To the Glory of God Alone
  • Baptist Interpretation- The Baptist Faith and Message 2000 is a good representation of a faithful Baptist interpretation of Scripture. While we have some things about which we like to be more specific, this document is a good standard by which you can discern whether you can worship with us in good faith and cooperation.
